Madona is a small Latvian city with the total area of 10 square kilometres situated in Madona Municipality in Vidzeme Upland in the east part of the country. It is 165 kilometres away from Riga and 60 kilometres away from Jekabpils.
Madona and its suburbs are an extremely popular winter resort in Latvia. Alpine slopes are good both for the beginners and for those who already have some experience in skiing. The highest peak here is the Gaizinkalns Mountain which is over 300 meters high. The tourists with children can use the services of animators and kids instructors.
