Mississippi is an American state situated on the Coastal Plain. The Mississippi River flows on the east. The southern border is washed by the Gulf of Mexico. It borders such states as Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana and Arkansas. The administrative centre is the city of Jackson. The largest cities are Gulfport, Biloxi and Hattiesburg.
Mississippi is a good destination for the excursion tourism and outdoor activities. The American historic heritage is the Vicksburg National Military Park. It was built at the place of a siege of Jackson which lasted almost 50 days.
