Piraeus is a Greek city resort in Greater Athens and the administrative centre of Attica Region. It is situated on the coast of the Aegean Sea in the southeast of the country. The total area of the municipality is 11 square kilometres. Piraeus is 12 kilometres away from Athens and 5 kilometres away from Nikaia.
In the very centre of the city, there is an international port. So if you prefer the beach holidays, you should better go to the suburbs. The nearest is Glyfada Beach.
