Arvika

Arvika is a small city in Sweden, which is recognised as the most popular resort among the tourists who prefer fuss-free holidays and those who want to get in touch with nature. Arvika is in the Varmland County and it is an administrative centre of the Arvika Municipality.

Arvika is situated in the western part of the country on the Kyrkviken Bay near the lake Glafsfjorden. Amazing landscapes are all around. That is why Arvika is an ideal place for ecological tourism. On the territory of the resort and near it, there are 365 lakes and many national parks. The most famous of them are the Glaskogen nature Reserve, the Bergs Klatt Nature Reserve, the Byamossarna Nature reserve, and the Perserud Nature Reserve.

Arvik will not be a disappointment for the active tourists because there are all the conditions for canoeing, kayaking, boating, riding catamarans, hiking, and biking. The tourists who want something even more extremal can go on a jeep safari across the woods or try their hand at a rope course. If you are not adventurous enough you can play golf or bowling, go fishing or swimming in Sweden lakes with crystal pure water. The lakes Stomne, Varmeln, Kolsjon, Mangen, and Treen have very good beaches.

Skiers should come to Arvika in winter to try cross-country skiing, skating, sledging, riding a ski-doo, and go snowshoeing.

A journey to Arvika will be interesting for those who love excursions. The tourists are welcomed to the Art and craft museum Rackstadmuseet and the Volvo Industrial Museum where one can see the exposition demonstrating the 200 years of Swedish auto industry development.
