Tirana

Tirana is the capital city of Albania. It is the centre of Tirana District. Tirana is situated between the mountains on the shore of the Ishim River near the Kruja-Daichi mountain range. It is about 40 kilometres from Tirana to the Adriatic Sea. The city is surrounded by thick woods inhabited by bears, wild boars, wolves, and birds.

The lovers of the excursion tourism prefer to spend their vacations in Tirana. Many tours start at the Skanderberg Square. Not far from the Square, there is an oriental market where the tourists will find a lot of authentic souvenirs. If you want to learn more about the country and the city, go to the National Historical Museum. The most interesting sights in Tirana are Ethem Bey Mosque, Martyrs Cemetery, Palace of Culture, and Palais des Congres. The lovers of art will want to visit the National Gallery of Albania which houses a unique collection of paintings. On the shore of the Lana River, there is a Museum of Enver Hoxha.

While riding a cable car to the Daichi Mountain, you will enjoy amazing landscapes. At the top of the mountain, you will find some restaurants and souvenir shops.

In Durres, which is 32 kilometres away from the capital, you can relax and sunbathe on comfortable beaches.

There are not so many night clubs in Tirana. The locals prefer to take night walks in the parks and on the boulevards.
