Turcianske Teplice is the oldest balneological resort in Europe. It is 216 kilometres away from Bratislava and is situated at the foot of the picturesque Velka Fatra.
The resort attracts largely the wellness tourists and people suffering rheumatism, bladder stone disease, locomotor system disorders and kidney conditions. They can undergo rehabilitation here. The treatment is based on the use of mineral water. The water temperature in the spring is +38 +36°C. On the territory of Turcianske Teplice, there are two mineral water springs and 3 swimming pools. In addition to balneology, the local medical centres also offer thermal therapy and light therapy, acupuncture, kinesitherapy, laser therapy, oxygen therapy.
The most popular hotel is Spa Hotel Velka Fatra. Families will have a great time in SPA & Aquapark Turcianske Teplice. On the territory of this entertaining centre, there is a thermal pool, tennis courts and football fields. In winter, you can go skating.
The active tourists can go trekking in the mountains, climbing, hiking, biking and horseback riding in the Velka Fatra National Park.
The foodies will try a favourite dish of all the Slovaks - Spišska pochut'ka. It is served in the Koliba Zuzanka restaurant.
