Himos

Himos is a popular Finnish skiing and snowboarding resort in the central part of the country. There are skiing trails for both the beginners and professional sportsmen.

There are three main slopes here. Phjois is the northern slope. The trails here best fit for the experienced skiers. Keski is good for the snowboarders and cross-country skiing. Families with children and beginners prefer the western slope Lansi. On this resort, there are 2 half-pipes, a skiing school, rental centres, a special mogul slope, snowboard street and a trail for monoskiing.

Among some other entertainments are snowmobile riding, snowshoeing in a forest, sledding, ice fishing, visiting the restaurants and a real Finnish sauna.

In spring and summer, the tourists can go hiking, biking and horseback riding in the mountain valleys. At Rainbow Tours they offer sea cruises and fishing tours. At Himos Golf Palvelut Oy, there is everything you may need for playing golf.

25 kilometres away from Himos in a village Jamsankoski, there is a pool and anyone can swim in it. If it is not enough for you, go to a larger city Jyvaskyla which will offer more entertainments for you. There is an aquapark AaltoAlvari Aquatic centre and an entertaining centre Viherlandia. The malls Forum and Torikeskus welcome everyone to make purchases.

Typical Scandinavian dishes are served in a restaurant Hirvikartano which is not far from Himos Ski Resort.
